Some of the bird species sights in the park include; Long-eared owl, Golden-winged Sunbird, Rwenzori Turaco, Barred long-tailed cuckoo, White-starred robin, Rwenzori Turaco, Rwenzori batis, Greenbuls among others. By a guided nature walk, you get a chance to sight a lot of these amazing birds in the park as you explore the park on foot. How to get to Rwenzori Mountain National Park?

It is easy to access Rwenzori Mountain national park by Air or Road transport using different routes. With the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Bushenyi – Kasese route, it takes you about 6 hours to cover a distance of 350 kilometers to access the park. whilst with Kampala -Mubende – Fort Portal then to the park, it takes you 4 hours. However, driving through Masaka is the most rewarding route since you go through Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park.

Alternatively, you can opt to fly to the park by jumping on a chartered Aircraft from Kajjansi or Entebbe international airport. This takes 30 minutes to land in Kasese Airstrip and later enjoy a short transfer to Rwenzori national park.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority charges 35 USD as the park entry fees for foreign non-Residents, 25 USD for the Foreign Residents, and 15 Uganda shillings for the East African Residents.
