What To Expect On A 5 Days Uganda Safari Adventure

Uganda offers some of the best safaris in Africa, with a variety to see and mind-blowing things to do on a well-planned 5 day safari. The massive country offers fantastic long trips with much more to do and discover in a number of safari destinations. On the other hand, short safaris do wonders for travelers and this 5-day Uganda safari might be perfect fit for you.  Here is what you should expect during the safari;

Explore the countryside

This tour is a 4 nights & 5 days Uganda safari that combines gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park and wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park. The road trip involves long drives from Kampala to the western and southwestern part of the country and this experience gives you a chance to see the Ugandan way of life in the countryside and villages that you go through.

Watch a variety of wildlife

A visit to Queen Elizabeth national park features thrilling safari activities; boat cruise on Kazinga channel to see the great numbers of hippos, diverse species of birds, huge crocodiles at the riversides and other wildlife of the park. Game drives are done in the plains of the park and they offer a chance to spot lions, leopard, hyena while Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants and buffaloes are common sightings.

See Tree climbing lions

While connecting from Queen Elizabeth national park to Bwindi, you drive southwards traveling through the Ishasha sector where you enjoy a short game drive that allows you search for the rare tree climbing lions. these amazing creatures are commonly spotted at mid-morning as the sun gets hotter. It is presumed that they climb and rest on the tree branches to escape the heat on the ground plus insect bites.

Spend a jungle night at Bwindi

The southwestern part of Uganda- areas around Bwindi offers more than just the mighty mountain gorillas; it is one of the most spectacular places for vacation in Uganda. The day starts with a chilly morning, warm day and ends with a chilly evening making it a whole unique part of the country. With its charming landscape, travelers enjoy superb views of the surroundings including hills, the mist-covered Bwindi forest tops plus the Virunga ranges. Spending a night in a lodge close to Bwindi offers a magical experience, you will realize a different kind of silence since you are surrounded by untouched nature.

Trek Mountain Gorillas

Gorilla trekking is not an experience you can get from a safari van or bus window as it happens in the savannah plains. On your trekking day, you will rise up early morning, have breakfast, park your lunch and enough drinking water. During the short briefing at the park offices, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek in a group of not more than 8 tourists. Right after all this, you get your first foot into the forest to start the long-awaited trek to search for the mighty apes. Hike further to the middle of the jungle until you spot the specific gorilla family. You will be allowed to watch the gorillas up close for a maximum of one hour.

You will drive back to Kampala via Lake Bunyonyi where you may stop shortly to just enjoy the magical views of the destination and take photos or head for a canoe ride, then proceed to Kampala to end the trip.
