Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

It’s always a warm welcome and nice to meet our professional guide who briefly tells about the beautiful moments expected on our first day. The approximately 6 hours journey from Kampala to the park starts at 6:30am. See how hardworking Ugandans are as they rush for work through Kampala suburbs of Bwaise, Kawempe, Matuggato Luweero which is one of the places where to grab tasty fresh fruits like pineapples, watermelons, mangoes and bananas among others. Herds of cattle are commonly seen in the plains of Nakasongola which connect to Masindi.

With a variety of dishes at our partner en route hotels, you could try out a local dish for lunch though international dishes are as well available. Through Masindi town, we proceed to the park straight to the top of the falls which welcomes us with loud roars of the Nile jamming through the 7 meters gorge.

Link up to the northern part of the park by crossing at Paraa by a ferry and head out for an evening game drive before checking in at the lodge

Dinner and overnight at: Paraa safari lodge, Chobe safari lodge (luxury), Murchison River lodge, Pakuba safari lodge (midrange), Heritage safari lodge, Red Chilli lodge (budget)

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise

A morning in the wilderness starts before sunrise. An early breakfast is followed by a game drive to the savannah grasslands where a number of Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, waterbucks, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and lions are often watched. Leopards are commonly spotted around the woodlands as well as some elephants.

A short relaxation at the lodge, lunch and thereafter head out for the afternoon boat cruise. As the boat sets off, enjoy rejuvenation by the cool breeze from the River Nile. Hippos are the commonest and could be a guarantee to see them here. Other attractions along the shores include crocodiles, birds, a few giraffes and Jackson’s hartebeest and buffaloes among others. The turning point of the boat is at the bottom of the falls where the eyes can never get enough of the wondrous beauty there.
