6 Days Gorilla Trekking Uganda SafariDetails of the itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and Transfer to the Hotel

Before arriving at the airport, our company representative or/and the safari guide are already there waiting you and on arrival, you are warmly welcomed and transferred to your preferred hotel around Kampala or Entebbe. You are given a briefing about the trip and the meeting time the following day.

Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Have your breakfast early and meet our guide who is already at the hotel to pick you.We set off and take the Kampala – Gulu highway through the busy Kampala suburbs of Bwaise and Kawempe via Luweero renown for a variety of fruits and you can ask the driver to stop here for a few minutes if you need to grab some fruits like bananas, pineapples and more. The first destination is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking which takes 2 hours. Proceed for lunch and continue to Murchison falls national parks.

A brief exploration of the park observing the scenery, a visit to the top of the Murchison Falls to witness the power and magnitude at this site as the river Nile forces through the 7m gorge. This is the most incredible waterfalls you could ever watch. Shortly, drive to the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Murchison falls is home to a variety of wildlife and offers the best game viewing safaris due to its big numbers of game reliable for the activity. After breakfast, get to the car and start driving around the plains where herds of Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants and many others are seen grazing. It is amazing how most of these animals are not frightened to see vehicles drive through their territories. A leopard may be spotted in the woodlands while lions can be spotted anywhere around the plains or bushes on a lucky day.

After the game drive, we get back to the lodge, relax, later on have lunch and drive to Paraa landing site for the afternoon boat cruise. The boat rides us on River Nile to the spectacular bottom of the Murchison falls. Attractive wildlife commonly seen around the banks of the river includehippos, Nile crocodiles and a variety of water birds. Sometimes giraffes and antelopes can be spotted. At the end of the boat ride, we drive back to our lodge.

Day 4: Transfer from Murchison to Bwindi National Park

Get up early and have your property packed, enjoy an early breakfast and check out. We set off for a full day drive to Bwindi. The road trip is full of breathtaking views of different landscapes during the transfer. Lunch en route and arrival at Bwindi in the evening.Check in at the booked lodge, have dinne and rest.

Day 5: Trekking for Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Forest

Normally, we have our breakfast early morning, transfer to the UWA offices for briefing with the ranger guide then enter tropical impenetrable forest to look for the endangered mountain gorillas. Many other forest residents such as black and white colobus monkeys, duikers, giant forest hogs can be seen but birds are a must see. The hilly terrain of the landscape is a great adventure for hiking lovers besides offering great views.

The trek can last for 1 hour, 2 or go up to noon depending on the movement of the gorillas. Finally, when they are found, visitors are allowed to stay with them for an hour to watch them, learn about their behaviors and take photos for memories of this thrilling moment. When leaving the forest, we get to the headquarters, pick our certificates for participation in gorilla trekking, have lunch and later on transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at our lodge at Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 6: Canoeing and return to Kampala

We enjoy our breakfast and head out for canoeing on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi where almost every visitor there admires this dotted lake with 29 Islands and backdrops of the Virunga volcanoes. Embark of the journey to Kampala via Mbarara with a stopover at the equator. Drop off at the agreed up on destination inKampala or Entebbe.
