5 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking SafariDetailed Itinerary of the safari.

Day 1: Transfer Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Today meet and greet with our company representative upon arrival at the airport or at your hotel of residence in Kigali. Set off for your journey to Nyungwe Forest National park, enjoy lunch en-route and proceed to the park. you arrive late evening, check in at your booked Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking plus an afternoon Canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Rise up for an earl morning delicious breakfast and by 6:30 am, get ready with your packed lunch, enough drinking water and head out to the park headquarters for a short briefing from the park ranger guides about the dos and don’ts while trekking in the forest. later begin off the trekking for the chimpanzee family in the forest. it is important to note the trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes or half an hour depending on the movement of the Chimpanzees on that day. You are allowed to spend one hour with the Chimpanzee family watching the juveniles play and learn more about their daily activities in the Jungle. After the wonderful experience return back to the lodge for lunch and relaxing.

Later in the evening, join a guided canopy walk with in Nyungwe Forest and grab a chance to spot different species of plants, amazing mammals and birdlife that are found in the forest. after the awesome experience Return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: A transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, later check out of the Lodge and set off your journey to Volcanoes national park home to the unique primate species like the endangered Mountain Gorillas and the rare endangered Golden monkeys. Enjoy Lunch enroute and continue your journey to the park, upon arrival check in at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation Option: Gorilla Nest Lodge, Kinigi Guest House or La Palme.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience and an after Exploration of the Iby’iwacu Cultural Visit.

Wake up to enjoy an early breakfast and later head out to the park headquarters for briefing before you begin the Gorilla trekking experience, here you are grouped into groups of 8 and assigned a park ranger guides. Later transfer to the starting point and begin the trek. It is important to note that trekking exercise can take about 2-8 hours of the day depending on the movement of the Gorilla family. After meeting the gorilla family, delight in a chance to spend about one hour with them while watching them feeding, nesting, nursing their young ones and learning more about their lifestyle in the wild. Enjoy taking photos with wonderful gentle creatures and later return to the park headquarters to meet with your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge.

Later in the afternoon depending on the period of the trekking exercise, head out for an optional Iby’iwacu Cultural community visit. Enjoy the entertainment, the unique cultural uniforms while performing the cultural traditional dances and learning more about the interesting authentic cultures of the Iby’iwacu people. In the late evening return to the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure to Kigali

Enjoy a delicious leisure breakfast, take a late check out from the lodge and join your driver guide for a departure to Kigali. Arriving in the evening, you are dropped at your hotel of residence in Kigali or at the airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home.
