We use the Mityana-Mubende highway to Fort Portal where we break off for lunch after about the 5 hours drive entertained by the scenic views of numerous hills, volcanic landforms and vast tea plantations. We rise up early morning, get to the restaurant for breakfast and move to Kanyanchu visitors Centre where registration and briefing about chimp trekking including what is expected, the rules and regulations take place before we are allowed to access the forest. After all this is done, we hit the trails of Kibale forest under the guidance of an armed ranger guide who helps us trace the location of the chimp community we have been allocated to track. The chimps act differently each day depending on their moods, they could be playful swinging from branch to branch, busy feeding or relaxing. After an hour with the chimps, we get back to the Visitors Centre and go for lunch.
